I would bet that 7layer is a little surprised that no Mars Volta has been posted yet... and I'm not going to post it... yet... but here is the musical arranger, producer, writer, and one part of what he calls the two part soul of the Mars Volta. He does a lot of solo work, five albums in total with some collaboration on other projects on the side. This album "Calibration (Is Pushing Luck and Key Too Far)" is fantastic. Its the fourth album released in what Omar calls the "Amsterdam Series" which is just the name he gave the series of records he made while living in Amsterdam. He also did some stuff under the group name The Omar Rodriguez Lopez Quintet. As always a lot of Spanish influence, lots of Spanish lyrics. Tons of rhythm, tons of great guitar, really well put together over all. Track six features guitar and vocals by John Frusciante while Omar actually gets into some vocals on 2 7 8 4. Album art work was done by some graffiti artist he knows Grey. I hope you notice the album picks up track 4 in track 10.
